DOSSIER
HISTORY: Link.
WHAT ARE YOUR CHARACTER'S STRENGTHS?: He is one creative motherfucker, formulating of all sorts of schemes and strategies on the fly. When Gamora snatched the orb from him on Xandar he managed to hold his own against her, an assassin, not only because he’s a proficient fighter, but also because he’s an unconventional fighter. Unpredictable, even. When she’s attempting to choke him out he removes his jet booster and attaches it to her back, sending her shooting off. He’s also quick witted, using his sharp tongue and smooth charms to either buy himself some time or talk himself out of almost any sour situation. Like on Morag when Kotath and his men found him taking the orb. He bought himself a few precious seconds that he used to devise a plan to keep from getting killed… his plasma sphere and gravity mine both used in a uniquely Peter fashion. His passion and drive to do what’s ( generally ) right is also what sets him apart. When Ronan set his sights on Xandar with the Dark Aster the odds were most definitely not stacked in their favor, but he still found the strength to give a heartfelt speech knowing full well they would be flying to certain doom. Not only did he gain the support of the soon to be Guardians, but also the Ravagers and the Nova Corps.
WHAT ARE YOUR CHARACTER'S WEAKNESSES?: In the words of Yondu… he’s soft. Because most of the Ravagers and, lbr, most of the aliens / creatures / people he’s encountered Peter is a rarity. He’s sentimental, having a heart that he not so subtlety wears on his sleeve. While most people would let Gamora die in the prison ( guards included ) Peter couldn’t help but interfere and stop Drax and the other inmates from slitting her up. He also goes on to save her a second time, giving her his helmet so she wouldn’t die from exposure in the depths of space. His attachment to his mother ( and all things associated ) is arguably his biggest weakness. He refused to open the gift she had given him on her death bed until coming to terms with what happened. The Walkman he had on him the night she died is something he takes the utmost care of. He’s put his life on the line several times to ensure its safety. When being incarcerated he slid into the item hold when he saw some asshole messing around with it…. mind, he was cuffed. He was destined to fail
WHAT EVENTS OR CIRCUMSTANCES IN YOUR CHARACTER'S PAST HAVE IMPACTED THEM THE MOST?: His mother’s death has had the greatest impact on him. Merideth was the light of his life, so much so that he couldn’t bear to see it get snuffed out. While at the hospital he was distant, listening to their music and ignoring his grandfather’s attempts to bring him to see her. When he did finally see her he couldn’t find the strength to take her hand, because that would have made it all too real. She was an amazing mother, having raised him all by herself. He knows that couldn’t have been easy, but she never, once, let it break her stride. Her love of music influences Peter to this day, the songs that she chose having made deep seeded connections to both his life and lifestyle over the years.
A somewhat close second is when Yondu Udonta abducted him. Instead of bringing him to Ego ( as he was supposed to ) Yondu said to hell with that jackass and kept and raised Peter as a ravager. He used a scare tactic to keep a distraught Peter in line, telling him “When I picked you up as a kid, these boys wanted to eat you. They ain’t never tasted Terran before. I saved your life!” But most of what he knows is because of his time spent with Yondu and the Ravagers. He learned the finer points of thieving in addition of shooting and flying all sorts of guns and ships.
And finally when he defeated Ronan with the help of his friends. Because they spent most of the time they shared together arguing with and trying to kill each other the fact they were finally able to put aside their differences to collectively give a shit meant a lot. Side xx side with both the Ravagers and the Nova Corps they were able to stop a giant bag of space dicks.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOUR CHARACTER?: Doing the right thing. Even as a boy he didn’t like seeing people ( or animals ) bullied. When at the hospital with his mother she asked about a black eye he was sporting and he told her he got it fighting a bunch of other boys that killed a frog that ain’t done nothing wrong. He might be a Ravager ( more or less pirates, smugglers, and thieves ) but he has a set of morals. Quill’s “extensive” Nova Corps criminal record includes 1 count of fraud, 2 counts of public intoxication, 1 count of assault, 1 count property destruction, and 1 count of endangerment of life… though the latter two are no thanks to some interference on Gamora, Rocket, and Groot’s part. Still, he strives to do what’s right even when he’s doing what’s wrong. He doesn’t hurt people unnecessarily, showing restraint and not using lethal amounts of force unless his life ( or that of his friends ) is in immediate danger… otherwise he chooses to stun, knock out, or incapacitate enemies or obstacles.
WHAT IMPRESSION DO OTHERS TEND TO HAVE OF YOUR CHARACTER?: He’s got a carefree, positive, easy going, and upbeat kind of attitude. He lives and breathes music, letting the different songs compose the story of his life. He does have a sarcastic side, not above making a snide comment ( or two ) with no concern for the situation. He flips off and gives lip to the guards at the Kyln prison, sends a somewhat vulgar message to a member of the Nova Corps to pass along to its leader, and finally he calls Ronan a few immature names after he manages to dupe him, buying him and his friends a couple of extra seconds. He appears reckless, his methods unorthodox, though they surprisingly do a good job of getting shit done. Peter also has a knack for making just about everything look easy, his nonchalant demeanor making him seem blasé, though the gears of his mind are always turning.
IN WHAT WAYS DOES THAT IMPRESSION DIFFER FROM WHO YOUR CHARACTER REALLY IS?: It’s not much different. He is all of the above, but there’s more to him than being your friendly galaxy wide asshole. He misses his mom ( a lot ) and he hates that his dad left them. It’s not something he likes talking about, because feelings and emotions are often considered a weakness. But while he still has a connection to his mom via music he has nothing with his dad. Like most boys, he craved a father-son relationship… so much so that he reveals to Gamora ( when drunk ) that he carried a picture of David Hasselhoff with him, telling kids his dad wasn’t around because he was filming Knight Rider.
HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER HANDLE CRISIS OR ADVERSITY?: He handles it like it ain’t no thing. Plans aren’t his forte, but that’s not to say he can’t come up with something
WHICH 5 THINGS WILL YOUR CHARACTER REMEMBER UPON ARRIVAL, AND WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THEM?: 1. His mother dying. 2. Being abducted ( and raised ) by the Ravagers. 3. Saving Gamora from the vacuum of deep space and the subsequent nonsense he babbles at her. 4. His speech to Gamora, Rocket, Drax, and Groot about giving a shit. 5. Holding onto the Infinity Stone with his friends and using its power to defeat Ronan.
#1 and #2 are what set the foundation for who he is, while #3 and #4 helped build the important relationships and friendships that benefited his continued growth. Finally, #5 made him realize there’s more to not only him, but also his friends. They’re the freaking guardians of the galaxy!
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU FEEL WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER?: They got my "dick" message!.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, & PHYSICAL WEAKNESSES: He’s half human and half celestial, something he doesn’t quite know at this time. I say quite because Irani Rael ( leader of the Nova Corps ) reveals that there’s is more to him than meets the eye. His celestial patrilineage has granted him enhanced durability, recovery, dexterity. He was able to suffer the burden of the Infinity Stone, whereas lesser men would have been burnt / corroded almost instantly. Peter has also been able to hold his own against Korath ( a Kree mercenary ) and Gamora ( an trained assassin ). He’s not invincible, however, and has certainly had the shit kicked out of him on more than one occasion. Peter’s an ace pilot, having been given a ship at the tender age of ten. He’s also a decent marksman, feeling most comfortable with his quad blasters, but also being able to pick up and fire most any weapon found in the galaxy. His proficiency with random pickups varies however, since he might not have spent all that much time ‘getting a feel for it’. He’s also a thief! Peter’s not the sneakiest of people, but he can break and enter with the best of ‘em. His sleight of hand game is strong, having eluded several people trying to steal the orb from him. He can hold his own during close quarter combat, but his strengths don’t lie in his, well, strength. Athletic and acrobatic, he uses his agility and reflexes to evade capture over and over.
INVENTORY: His clothes, SONY Walkman ( and two mixtapes ), quad blasters, helmet, jet boot attachments,
